[It finally happened]

Last night it was time for bathtime. I was getting the ducky tub ready and Mike was getting Courtney undressed for bath. He brings her into the bathroom nekkid and puts her in the tub. Then turns and looks at me and says "She peed on me." LMAO! Of all the times we have carried her nekkid little body from her bedroom to the tub and she finally lets daddy have it. The funniest part is he had JUST taken a shower.

How could you not laugh? And look at this face!

[We're in trouble]

I put Courtney down for a nap yesterday and she played for a little bit. After a good 15 minutes of not actually going to sleep, I go in to check on her. This is what I find:

And we just lowered her mattress the weekend prior because she had learned to sit up on her own and look over. Thank God we lowered it when we did or else she may have just tumbled right over the side.

My favorite [baby] things!

I've wanted to do a post like this for some time but as Courtney gets older, some things come off that list and others gets added. So I'll do a short list of things that have lasted Courtney's 7 3/4 months (OMG...she's almost 8 months). ::tear::

1) Cloud B Sleep Sheep - We have used the Sleep Sheep everyday since Courtney came home from the hospital. Thanks to my parents, Courtney received an "On the Go" Sleep Sheep for her baptism so we have a smaller one to take with us when we travel. Yay!

2) Medela Pump in Style - Although I didn't have a "new" one (I borrowed my sisters), this thing was a must have for ANY nursing mom AND working mom. I pumped for Courtney from 12 weeks until we weaned at 7 months. If I had a hand pump I NEVER would have made it as far as I did. I would just recommend researching any type of double electric pump. There are a lot of great pumps out there. I hear Ameda's are great as well.

3) PumpEase Hands Free Pumping bra - A must have for working moms. I didn't order mine until 4 or 5 months in. I wish I had it sooner.

4) Dr. Brown's Bottles - We have tried different brands and these are the best we found. People do complain about the parts to wash (there are 7 total parts - bottle, cap, venting system (2 pieces), nipple, twist lid and flat cap to avoid spillage) but I just fill the sink with hot soapy water and throw them all in to soak for a bit then scrub them all. It really isn't that bad. These also come in glass and wide neck if you're interested.

5) Dr. Brown's BPA Free Natural Flow Deluxe Bottle Warmer - We just recently bought this, mostly because we knew we were switching to formula. It warms the bottle with steam. You can heat up to 10 bottles before refilling the water resovoir. I usually make Courtney's bottle, put it in the warmer, change Courtney's diaper and just in time hear the "ding". It's great. I've heard some negative reviews of other bottle warmers and this one I think is a must have.

6) Exersaucer - Courtney has been using hers since 5 months and it is one of the things that I can put her in to be entertained while I do the dishes, vaccuum or blog. :) We ordered ours through Amazon with free shipping.

7) Pacifiers - Some people like them, some don't. We knew we didn't want Courtney to be a thumb sucker (you can take away a pacifier, but can't take away her thumb). Courtney started of on Nuk pacifiers but then transitioned over to MAMs.

8) Aveeno Baby Wash & Shampoo - We started with Johnson and Johnson but then switched to Aveeno after Courtney started getting dry skin leading to eczema. Her Pedi recommended switching to Aveeno because supposedly J&J adds alcohol to their washes and lotions which tends to dry out baby skin (go figure). The Aveeno wash smells so good and makes Courtney's skin so soft! I love me some soft baby skin!

That's all I can think of right now!

Piggies and Paws!

For all you mommy's out there. I have a recommendation for you. While vacationing at home in California I took Courtney to an independant artist for Piggies and Paws. They take handprints or footprints and turn them into art. We looked through book after book until we found the perfect design. I knew I wanted Courtney's handprint since all I had was her footprints. And there it was, staring back at me. A little handprint made into a cupcake. It even had "C is for...". I had to have it. So our independant artist took Courtney's handprint. Three days later I had this adorable piece of art that was an adorable cupcake made with Courtney's handprint and it said "C is for Courtney". Although I'm not allowed to post a picture of it due to copyright, you can check out the Piggies & Paws website to see a few examples. I paid $30 and now it hangs on our hallway wall for everyone to see.

Check them out at http://www.piggiesandpaws.com and search for an artist near you!

7 months...a little late!

Oh well! Courtney turned 7 months on New Years Day! Yay! We were back home in California so I was able to take some photos in my parents backyard.

Here is what she is up to:

- She army crawls like a pro and gets up on her hands and knees but just rocks. We are in trouble.

- She enjoys many different foods. Chicken is not one of them, unless of course I disguise it in some veggies. But she still gives me that "WTF mom?" look. Her favorite seems to be a combo of squash and corn.

- She has learned how to peek out the slats of her crib to see if we are peeking in on her at night or when she is up in the morning.

- She pretty much sleeps through the night. ::crosses fingers, touches toes and jumps backwards 5 times:: Hope I didn't just jinx this. She had a night where she went to bed at 7:30pm and woke up at 8am. It was a-ma-zing!

- She is now on formula. I made it to 7 months nursing but was not pumping enough for it to be worth the stress. So I decided to just switch to formula. I'm proud I made it 7 months and she is doing great on Gerber Good Start. But I do have to say that shit is expensive.

- Still no teeth.

- She received her 2nd flu shot yesterday and didn't even cry. What a big girl!

- She was 16 pounds 12 ounces at her 6 month appointment on December 9.

- She babbles up a storm but has yet to say Mama or Dada. I'm pushing for Mama first. ;-)

- She was baptised on December 28.

That's all I can think of right now. If you have any questions feel free to just ask. I'll answer them.
