Yeah...that aint going to happen. I received an offer for another position this morning within our company and I gladly accepted. I would have loved to stay home with Courtney for her first year but in this economy I couldn't give up a great paying job. So with the acceptance of a new position, which I will move into next Friday, I talked with Mike about what I want out of being a working mom.
I told him I didn't want to look back and realize that all I did was work and spent just a few hours a day with my daughter. I told him that if I am going to work so that we can enjoy things, then we really need to actually take the time to enjoy them. I don't want to blink and Courtney be a teenager and ask myself "what fun family things have we done together?". I don't want her to grow up and say "my parents always worked and we never did anything together as a family." So I asked that we plan at least one BIG family vacation a year. One that we can look back on and reminisce. "Remember the time we went to Disney World," Remember the cruise we took to Alaska?" Things like that. And he agreed.
This also means that I need to start looking for a new daycare since Court's babysitter is due with her 2nd baby in the next few months.

Congrats on your new job! I'm a firm believer in the fact that everything happens for a reason. Trust me you'll be able to find balance. You're an awesome Mommy and I doubt you'd ever allow yourself to miss out on too much. I can't wait to read all about all your little family adventures!
Use some of those trips to come see us please!
Congrats on your new job! God works in mysterious ways. Big yearly family trips are definitely a must. You'll definitely have to share tips about how to balance it all.
Your daughter is adorable! And she's not too much older than my little girl. :)
I'm following your blog!
Can you do the same for me?
